Lead singer of Kajagoogoo. Limahl won the hearts of a global audience in the early 80’s as lead singer of Kajagoogoo - who stormed charts all over the world with their self penned debut single ‘Too Shy’ (also reaching No’5 in USA). ‘Kaja-mania’ was born.
After two more top 20 hits ‘Ooh To Be Ah’ & ‘Hang On Now’, Limahl and the band went their separate ways. As a solo artist, Limahl found success with his first single ‘Only For Love’. This was followed up with ‘The Neverending Story’ movie theme-song, reaching No’1 in many countries - a collaboration with legendary producer Giorgio Moroder. Into the 90’s and Limahl co-formed the music production team ‘Jupiter’ who worked with Kim Appleby, Kim Wilde, Peter Andre and Worlds Apart to name a few.
The 00’s saw Limahl branch into theatre and star in the Bruno Tonioli (‘Strictly’) feel-good show ‘What A Feeling’ which toured the UK successfully along with Rose Royce lead singer Gwen Dickey. Thanks to music channel VH1, Kajagoogoo were reunited for the first time in 20 years, culminating in a ‘live’ performance at London’s The Scala which was filmed/broadcast as part of their ‘Bands Reunited’ series. Subsequently a new Kajagoogoo EP ‘Death Defying Headlines’ and single ’Space Cadet’ were released to coincide with a tour of the UK and Germany. Limahl has appeared regularly on TV across the world including the UK shows ‘The Weakest Link’ (BBC1) ’Hit Me Baby One More Time’ (ITV1), ’I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’ (ITV1) and ’Pointless Celebrities’ (ITV1). In 2020 , his new solo singles, ‘Still In Love’ and ‘One Wish For Christmas’ have received outstanding reviews and thousands of streams/views online.
After more than 40 years in the business, Limahl is a firm favourite with his own ‘live’ band at many music festivals and continues to be in demand - touring Australia & Japan in 2016 and the USA in 2018.
